Additional Considerations
As noted in the "Basis for Cost Assumption"
section above, providing active humidification in a
building requires careful consideration of moisture
condensation issues. Exterior wall and roof
constructions, in particular, must be carefully
designed and analyzed to ensure that air-borne
moisture does not readily condense and accumulate
within the assemblies.
Synergistic Credits
For the purposes of this study, humidity
monitoring and control systems are considered part
of the total humidification system cost. The
monitoring and control components directly apply
to credit EQ-7.2 (Thermal Comfort, Permanent
Monitoring System).
