Most specification references use gage number followed by the decimal inch thickness.
Example: 22 gage (0.034 inch).
Use current standard sheet thicknesses. Show only the gage number on metric documents
until a metric standard is developed.
Example of usage: Provide grab bar with a minimum wall thickness of 18 gage
(0.051 inch). Replace with: Provide grab bar with minimum wall thickness of 18
gage.
